In 1973, four people went against the advice of others, that Idaho was too small for its own affiliate chapter and should join another state. Fifty years later, IdahoRID celebrated half a century of support for Idaho interpreters. As a volunteer run organization, this work was not possible without our members and this community. 

The 50th Anniversary celebration was held in Meridian, Idaho in October 2023. Over 120 people were in attendance, in-person and online. This was our largest event to date with a silent auction that donated $1,536 in proceeds to the IESDB Deaf Mentor Program. The event also hosted a large banquet and 3 fascinating workshop tracks. The focus was to step out of our silo functions and bring our community together, into a collaborative partnership.
