A) Friday, April 20th – Saturday, April 21st
Idaho RID is excited to partner with the College of Southern Idaho’s United Signers Club and the Magic Valley Deaf Pride Night. Please join us Friday evening, April 20th, at a local Twin Falls restaurant for Deaf Pride Night, and then come out Saturday morning, April 21st, to the US Club 5k fun run with all proceeds benefiting ISDB’s “cottage life” program and the Sawtooth camp for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children. Following the race, Idaho RID will hold our annual business meeting on the CSI campus, including a licensure presentation/update by LaVona Andrew (CEUs pending). More details coming soon….
We will hold elections at our business meeting and are now accepting nominations for 1) Secretary, 2) President-Elect, and 3) Scholarship Committee Chair. For information on specific requirements for each position refer to our bylaws, http://idahorid.org/about/by-laws/. Please email nominations by April 1st to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
At our business meeting, we will also announce the winner of our 2nd annual ‘Deaf Heart’ Interpreter award. Email nominations (along with a short explanation of why you’re nominating that interpreter and why you think they demonstrate a ‘Deaf Heart’) to: email@example.com by April 1st.
B) Saturday, April 28th
We are also thrilled to be partnering with Washington RID to offer a workshop in Northern Idaho. Corey Axelrod will be the presenter, and will offer two different workshop sessions, one on working with Hard of Hearing clients and one on medical interpreting. C) Fall Conference
